Biopsy Kits
They contain:
- a pre-addressed, prepaid mailing box
- either one 120 ml formalin vial for large biopsies or two 30 ml vials for small biopsies
- a Zip-lock bag to contain formalin vial(s)
- our biopsy submission form
- (upon request) a micro-screen cassette to protect small or fragile biopsies
To order:
- Fill out the WVDL Veterinary Supply Order Form, found on our Forms page.
- Choose Biopsy Submission Kit on the form. Choose either one large or two small container(s) per biopsy kit.
- Email the form to supply.room@wvdl.wisc.edu or fax to 608-416-1539 (OR call us at 608-262-5432.)
Shipping
We offer free UPS ground shipping when you order our biopsy kit for your biopsy specimens (see Veterinary Supply Order Form). UPS generally provides next-day delivery of biopsies, which improves the turnaround time for results.
Typical turnaround time for biopsy reporting is two working days after receipt of the sample. Extra time may be needed for cases with special stains (e.g., for microbes) or decalcification (bone, teeth).
